These orchid flowers connected to my heart at a painful time in my life.
Grieving the end of my teaching career, I doubted my value and struggled
with God and His calling for my future. 

Out of that pain and struggle, God healed my heart through the process of
painting these orchids.  As I painted, He showed me the beauty He brings
forth in each stage of an orchid flower’s life, a beauty not dependent on the
stage they are in but on the Creator who made them.  
 
Psalm 37: 3-6
"Trust in the Lord and do good. 
Dwell in the land and feed on His faithfulness. 
Delight yourself also in the Lord,
And He shall give you the desire of your heart.

Commit your way to the Lord,
Trust also in Him,
And He shall bring it to pass.
He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light,
And your justice as the noonday."
