Artist Statement :

Nature amazes, excites, and inspires me!

Henry David Thoreau wrote, "The question is not what you look at, but what you see."Passionate about nature, each painting, whether a landscape, floral, or tropical still life, becomes an outpouring of my heart to share nature's amazing beauty and stories.

I am a colorist and work with luminous, rich paints created by the same family-owned company in France that created colors and paints for Monet, Renoir, and Degas. Using striking compositions, I focus on sharing the heart of what draws me to my subjects. I hope my art helps you see nature more fully and participate in its celebration of life!

Artist Bio:

As a high school student, I begged to get out of my mandatory art class and then fell in love with art.  Believing I would never be “good enough” to be an artist, I instead pursued degrees in Elementary and Special Education, later adding a Gifted Education Specialist Degree. Through sometimes difficult changes in my life, I moved into art education and received a Masters of Art Education from Florida International University.  I shared my passion for life and creating with students for over 20 years.

Due to health issues I am no longer teaching. Amazingly, I've gone from desperately wanting to avoid art to being an artist with works in private collections throughout the United States, Latin America, the Middle East and Europe.

My work has been accepted into juried exhibitions such as:
Beaux Art Festival
Coconut Grove Art Festival
Coconut Point Festival of the Arts
Palmetto Bay Art in the Park - 2009 3rd Place Award for 2-Dimensional Art
